Location

The area is located in northern Finland, on the edge of Lapland! There is an airport in Kuusamo, and the flight time to Helsinki, Finland’s capital, is only 1 hour. The nearest larger cities are Oulu, Rovaniemi and Kajaani – each of them approximately a two-hour drive away.

The best employment opportunities in the region can be found in the travel and tourism industry, forest-based industries, metal industry as well as the social and healthcare sector. The area consists of three neighbouring municipalities – each of them with their own strengths and characteristics. You can e.g. work in one, live in another and visit the third one… just because!
